Iowa shrugs off Clinton controversies

Cedar Falls, Iowa (CNN)—The parallel universes of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign collided Tuesday.
In one world, four Iowans who'd all been invited by Clinton's team saddled up to a table to talk with her about what she might do to ease regulations on small banks and whether she'll support a Pacific Rim free trade deal.

In the other world, reporters who hadn't gotten Clinton to respond to a single query in nearly a month threw her questions about her private email server, her personal wealth gained from exorbitant speaking fees, her family foundation's acceptance of foreign contributions, the 2003 invasion of Iraq and the influence old friends who now represent business interests have on her decision-making process.

By taking five minutes' worth of questions, Clinton appears to have released some of the pressure that has built in the national press recently over her desire to focus on the policy matters that she views as central to her 2016 bid for the Democratic nomination without being sidetracked by the ever-present questions about her personal ethics and the day's news.

Voters matter and so many are tired of Gowdy and his Benghazi/email spinning supporters. Hillary is going to them listening and talking about the issues that impact their lives. Gowdy is now probably responsible for a portion of Hillary's immense popularity among the left. Iowans taking part in politics are more savvy than your average voter. They are interested in the issues. She has the right wingers and their media up in arms while garnering enormous support from progressives. Once again, great start to a campaign.

The average Democratic voter could care less.

That being said, I am guessing around 90% of duers are current Sanders primary supporters. An extreme majority of du. Most of them also have a great respect for Clinton. The ones you mention are few but very loud. Those few but loud don't deserve the distinction you have given. When Opinion pieces from Andrew Malcolm are praised by some it becomes very transparent. Most Sanders supporters and Hillary supporters have great respect for both people. Very few are chasing every Gowdy tid bit they can find. They are loud, but far and few between.

But I will be voting for Hillary. Some just can't grasp how that can be.

The team Sanders surrounds himself with will be a huge factor for me. It will let us all know if he is working to help control the topics or if he is gunning to be President.
