...the history of your exchanges, but his responses seem to me to be just short of blowing you off. Closer to "psh, yah, whatever, let's see what he thinks is a 'zinger' this time" than to actually arguing with you.

Maybe this isn't representative of past exchanges, or maybe there's context that is inevitably missing.

But if not, or at least not too much, I think you're the one who needs to step up your game when baiting RWers.

And unless this was in some public or semi-public forum, you missed what I consider the prime reason for such exchanges: not to convince the wingnut, but to undermine them in the eyes of bystanders. It's nice to put one right between their eyes, but it's even better to chisel a fissure between them and those who might go along with them if you hadn't made them look dopey on their own terms.
