Does Anyone Here Know If There Is A Way To Track A Sen or Rep's Net Worth When They Ran Their First.

campaign and then track their net worth over the length of time they've served in the Senate or House?

I believe they all have to make their financial info available when they declare candidacy. I also believe that they have to continue to report their financial info as they make subsequent bids to run for re-election.

Wouldn't it be interesting to track their net worth along with their career in Congress?

For example: Senator X's net worth - when he first ran for his first term as U.S. Senator - was $367,000. Senator X has served in the Senate now for 18 years. His current net worth is $7.8 million. Now how could he do so well on the wage that he makes as a U.S. Senator?

I'm just thinking that this would be valuable info to know. Any thoughts?

that will work as long as they don't shift everything to a spouse and then file separately. And lord knows how much money the majority of republicans (and some dems to be fair) have squirreled away in off-shore accounts.
