(94,508 posts)the article only pulls out the candidates (Republican AND Democratic) with double-digit support. Arbitrary, but not politically biased.

(99,710 posts)As long as HRC is hitting those numbers I'm content. As long as we don't have to spend money in states like NY and CA it's more money we can spend in states like FL, VA, NC, and CO.
The Pugs don't have to spend money in TX but if we put Julian Castro on the ticket that might force them to spend there. That's less money for battleground states.

It's ugly behavior and what it makes it more ugly is the fact that it comes from the anonymity of an internet connection. I said I was aggrieved...If I tell someone I feel I am aggrieved and their behavior caused it and they continue in that behavior they are a displaying a lack of empathy.

(7,865 posts)It is a poll taken over a year prior to the California state primary before Bernie Sanders could get any media traction. I am not confident this is going to hold up.
leftofcool
(19,460 posts)kenfrequed
(7,865 posts)The poll started on the 23rd of April a week before Bernie formerly announced which already throws some difficulties into it and it includes a numer of candidates who have not announced or are unlikely to announce.
He is just starting to gain traction now and I imagine a sizable chunk (though probably not all) of Warren's support will flow to him.
I am saying that it is way too soon to tell on this one.

(7,865 posts)Till April 30th I think Hillary was the only announced major candidate. I would have been shocked if she didn't have a lead. Sanders has already moved into double digits in some national polling done (also a bit too soon to know if it is novelty or if it will be solid-obviously I favor the later)

(7,865 posts)I think the Warren support would probably go 75-90% to either Bernie or O'Malley. I think Clinton even getting a quarter of that support is generous.
I have no idea what would happen to Biden's support and am a bit surprised that he is still pulling anything. I think 90% of whatever Biden has will probably go to Clinton.
brooklynite
(94,508 posts)kenfrequed
(7,865 posts)I think the majority of the people supporting Warren are very passionate about economic issues and regulating the banks. Whatever Clinton's positions most of Warren's supporters have the perception that she has taken a lot of campaign donations from the banks which sort of turns them off. Whether that divide is real or a matter of perception depends upon who you ask, but I don't think people that support Warren are going to spontaneously throw half of their support behind Hillary.
At least not without Warren actually endorsing Hillary.
