There are perverts in all walks of life, religious or not, home schooled or not.

I hope the parents in this case receive the harshest sentence.

It does seem like the perfect set-up though. I mean, no school counselors obligated to report child abuse crimes to the authorities. It keeps the abused completely cloistered.

but I would not be surprised if it's more common in these highly repressed and insular environments.

It all depends on what kind of outside interaction is going on. If, when these boys are starting to develop sexual attractions, do they have outside social opportunities? If not, it would make a warped kind of sense they'd turn those urges towards the nearest available females.
