It wasn't a meat-and-potatoes policy speech, but the 600-plus people who filled a riverfront restaurant got what they came for from Mitt Romney.
He gave a shout out to mothers, said he likes oil, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy, deplored the federal debt and pledged to balance the budget.
He even gave a nod to the Keystone XL pipeline, which he said he would approve.
Romney, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, received an enthusiastic response from the crowd at Rick's Cafe Boatyard, some of whom had waited nearly three hours for the 12-minute speech.

(10,942 posts)Maybe Romney was there to raise funds, he can do that better in a red state. But $800,000 is a paltry sum when compared to President Obama's fundraising hauls.

(73,630 posts)And the President isn't in danger of losing, I see, with that crowd.
The state assigns proportional electoral college votes. Omaha represents one vote. That's why he's there, he's trying to take a sure vote away from the President.
He's not trying hard enough.
