1. funny thing about this

I have old furniture, it will never wear out. it cost about 5 times as much as the same kind of furniture sells for today, except it is made out of solid wood or good quality filling and fabric. In my 79 years, I have replaced one couch that was actually salvageable, but no one wanted and two leather chairs that took some bad hits from my ex and his smoking. just ran out of room in the house.
I have some 4o year old t-shirts I still wear that look worn but do not seem to stain or tear, but the new stuff generally gets stained or torn or shrinks, and lasts no more than a year. The old t-shirts cost 25 the new one 7.50.

I have jeans from the 60's I gave them away to a boy in the 90's who had his mother switch the zipper, and he still wears them into his 40's (he likes the elephant legs, what can I say, he considers himself a vintage clothes lover.
Blouses, - the old ones wear longer and better but cost me 50 to 100 dollars in the 70's and 80's . i think it has something to do with a short thread fabric? I know when I ws something new, I get a lot of lint.

I never needed a large closet in the past, but it seems like I have a huge one now for clothes I throw out pretty fast.
go figure.

the TPP bring keyboard manufacturing back to the US?

And, have you ever owned a Honda or Kia? Or Canon camera? They'll be around, too, TPP or not.

3. But with tariffs the cost would be similar.

Therefore it would be easier and better to have them made here for the same cost. Workers would have jobs, make more money and be able to buy them.

and Clothes, etc. I would just love to have the choice of getting T-shirts made here, besides a few small scale outlets and made of American long thread cloth.
Where is my car made, where is ........ you can go on with the list. I tried as long as I could to buy American, just can't always do it. I do live in an old house that has amazing properties not available now in fire resistance, drive an old Saturn, where probably at least 20% built here. but some things you just can't buy made here. Even if they say they are made in the USA, a lot are not.

is they don't want things to last. You have to buy a new toaster every three years or so and be a good little consumer.
