Regarding Obama's marriage equality statement

"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

Sir Winston Churchill, Speech in November 1942 ...

I feel hopeful. Good change comes so slowly it is easy to get frustrated and discouraged especially as we watch what seems to be the de-evolution of our country. But it does come if we refuse to give up the fight. So we move forward in the face of adversity and we try to nurture the young ones who are afraid and don't have the perspective that comes with age. I feel hopeful. I hope it's contagious.

I think we need a federal statute (like Civil Rights or Equal Employment Opportunity laws) that guarantees marriage equality. Denying gay marriage is clearly unconstitutional on equal protection grounds.
