With a photo of her cousin behind her, Veronica Rosa described Josue Ramirez-Marinero as a sweet, calm and peaceful boy.

In the picture, Josue is wearing an all-white suit, celebrating his baptism.

On Tuesday, Josue celebrated his would-be fifth birthday with God, Rosa said.

“He was an angel and he’s up in heaven now,” she said.

I hope it's true that he was asleep when he was thrown into the river... not that he would have stayed asleep, but at least that reduces the time he would have been terrified. It's a very, very, very, very, very small comfort. This shatters my heart... that poor sweet baby.
