Watch: Hypocrite Ted Cruz Begs For Federal Relief Money For Houston Flooding

Ted Cruz, the same Tea Party Senator that voted against aid for victims of Hurricane Sandy because it was “wasteful“, shows off his astonishing hypocrisy by announcing that he will work with Democrats to “stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations.

It turns out that Texas is the biggest recipient of federal disaster relief money in the country, as 46 counties are in a state of emergency. For all the railing that Ted Cruz does against “big government” and “wasteful spending”, he sure is quick to change his tune. The disaster in Texas is an absolute tragedy, but it’s equally appalling to see Cruz flip-flop after attempting to deny critical disaster relief to other Americans for partisan brownie points. This is a real recurring theme with Republicans, who lack the empathy and compassion to spend federal money on disaster relief for other Americans but clamor for it when bad times hit their own states.

when it happens to them it is somehow "different." I have had untold numbers of potential clients come to me seeking redress that are proud to tell me they are Republicans. They start off by saying that they normally don't believe in law suits except in their case it is just so bad. Many times they slip and even say something to the effect that theirs, "...is a real case, unlike most of your others!" They probably feel like they need a shower just because they went to a trial lawyers office.
Since the last round of tort reform I have to turn down many cases that used to be viable. I will admit that I do get some satisfaction when I have to turn down medical malpractice cases due to the $250k cap on pain and suffering. It punishes children, retirees, and home-makers who had no lost wages, because with the costs of medical experts and the other litigation expenses and attorney's fees I cannot put any money in their pockets even with a home run. Also, they are hard to win with Texas juries being what they are. They usually respond that their case is different because it is legitimate. I ask them why they thought that caps were needed on damages for frivolous cases. I also ask why would I file frivolous cases when I front all expenses and only get paid if I recover on their case. I make sure they understand before they leave that they were duped by insurance companies and to pay more attention to who is behind this stuff instead of worrying what other people get.

Things like this happen all the time. When something affects another group of people, Republicans claim spending on those people is wasteful. However, when something happens to Republicans and their constituents the government needs to do its job and spend money to make things right. Does anyone remember the hissy fit former Texas Governor Rick Perry threw when there was a wild fire raging through Texas? Perry's hissy fit came after Perry had spent time criticizing President Obama for government spending on disaster relief.

I believe it was pointed out, during the 2012 election, that Paul Ryan had taken stimulus money even though he had been very critical stimulus spending. It is possible that each member of the Texas Republican delegation has, on multiple occasions, done exactly what Ted Cruz just did.

When do you see Dems politicizing natural disasters? Never, that's when!! Peter King, who railed against the people from his party who didn't vote for the Sandy Hook relief, wonder how he voted when Tx needs help? Where is Cruz with his talk about seceeding when he wants to suck more money out of the national treasury for his state?? Over and over and over again, it's all 100% hypocricy. They truly don't give a fuck about anything other than themselves and the rest of the 1%. Sub-human is the best I can call them.
