(22,336 posts)when it's Pres. Obama, Clinton, whoever else, that we have to allow criticism, no matter how ugly (POS used car salesman comes to mind), but when it's Sanders, no criticism is allowed. Funny.

(41,692 posts)But the comment indicating that he aint all that on race is over the top in mho.
gollygee
(22,336 posts)not that he is racist, just that he hasn't said enough given what's going on here. You can't see how people of color might feel that way with what's going on in the US right now?

(22,336 posts)that every bit of criticism gets freaked out over and sometimes misrepresented. The OP everyone is complaining about did not call Sanders racist. It said he hasn't said enough about issues of racism that are happening in the US lately, and gave some examples of racism he could say something about. It did not call him racist.

(14,755 posts)You know, like a quote. And more than one will be needed.
gollygee
(22,336 posts)We are being told through actions. If any criticism is given, there are a half dozen or more threads in response, full of outrage.

gollygee
(22,336 posts)so it wasn't a quote. We are told by people's reactions when there's even mild criticism of Sanders. there are threads and threads and threads responding to a post that Sanders hasn't said enough about racism yet, and people are not only freaking out about that, they're claiming it says that Sanders is racist. That's a way of shutting down criticism.

(9,067 posts)The Hillary bashing has also been as illogical as anything I've seen from the GOP. Someone could equally say (and some have) that "THOSE BERNIE SUPPORTERS WILL STOP AT NOTHING!"

(32,139 posts)Smearing a decades-long strong supporter of civil rights as a racist is low and despicable, and of course it's being done by our familiar, full-time defenders of corporate policy and dispensers of Third Way talking points. That's not "criticism" of the candidate, and it's not a joke. It's called lying and a smear campaign.
It's deeply ugly, and it's yet another important example of the dishonesty, moral vacancy, and manipulativeness of corporate candidates and their election campaigns.
There's a clear theme emerging in this election. Honesty and representation, versus dishonesty and manipulation.
gollygee
(22,336 posts)that op said that the poster thinks he hasn't said enough about issues of racism, given what's going in the US, and showed some of what's going on in the US for context. Saying he hasn't said enough about racism yet in his campaign is not calling him racist.

(64,865 posts)I read this OP as a criticism of the other one implying that Sanders is soft on race relations. Seems like you would support that message, not unrec it.

(10,494 posts)Hillary has to use others to do it to keep her hands clean. That is not to say that Bernie supporters won't do it to Hillary, but the ones that do will have zero ties to his campaign. Bernie just doesn't operate that way.

(30,481 posts)And it's only a couple of people. They become outraged at everything. Over ninety percent of active posters on du are voting for Sanders in the primary yet they act as if they are the extreme minority of du. Very strange.
