I just can't hold this back, Enough , Let's talk about what's at stake in this election, As I see it in a nutshell it is we who are the people who desire to see the true promise of America rekindled , To do so we must end the corporate end run around all laws of the U.S. , We must end politicians for nothing but profit running this country, If we are to succeed we must all pull together no matter which candidate you support, Case in point myself I will support Bernie as he is the candidate I see as the best to accomplish the afore mentioned goals , But if push comes to shove I will vote for Hillary even though I have a hard time seeing her standing up against the corporate influence in politics, The one thing that we all should be doing is making sure that all GOP wing nuts are absolutely not elected to anything, Not even dog catcher, That as I see it should be our priority, So that's my rant , With so much at stake we must pull together !

(14,400 posts)there are a certain fraction that wouldn't have voted for the Democratic nominee in any case and they happened to be the ones with the biggest shit stirring spoons in the pot the whole time.

(8,545 posts)I joined DU in 2001 after the "election," when lots of people were still arguing for Nader.
I remember the arguments about Denis Kuchinich, who many thought would win the Dem nomination and the presidency.
And there were horrific arguments about Hillary when she ran for the nomination against Obama.
I don't like the heated arguments, but I do like Democrats so much better than Republicans, so I stay with DU.

(21,740 posts)attack one or the other of them.
I suggest you all follow Bernie's philosophy and stop with the negative bullshit about both of them.
To me, it sounds like if you hate one of them so much, then you'll probably be voting for the Republican and I can't stand that shit.

(4,458 posts)like a laser on electing a "doable" Congress no matter Who wins the primary.
In the meantime...instead of angrily Bashing each other's candidates, perhaps a "smarter approach" would be for:
HRC supporters should focus on educating us All about Why their candidate is best, not Worse.
Bernie supporters should focus on educating us All about Why their candidate is best, not worse.
We all have a Lot of work to do....and I don't believe either side has Any time to waste. Congress is Key.
Without that, Neither of them, should they win the general, will be able to do Anything "we, the people" want/need/earned...Period.
All, imo...of course

(20,166 posts)I've been thinking I may have to tune out DU during the primaries.
Yes, I know political campaigns have always been mean, brutish, and ugly, but I believe we're all facing some pretty large challenges as a country and as a planet for this politics-as-usual crap.
As Bob Dylan once sang, "Let us stop talking falsely now...the hour is getting late."
There's even more urgency to that line than when he first wrote it, imo.

(1,190 posts)And Another great point, the stakes at this point are so f- ing high, life and death for this country and all the not wealthy people most will just go along with corporate slavery , Me the line I remember from Jimmy Cliff " I'd rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave" Thank you.

(28,552 posts)... isn't going to improve any of the issues you mention. Period. She is RESPONSIBLE for a lot of them, she and her husband greased the way for the bankster takeover of our government.
But you can hum kumbaya all you want, it's a free country.

(72,790 posts)really no need to take it seriously. I like when DUers snipe with each other over candidates. Makes it fun.

(13,877 posts)go to the next one that interests me. I suspect most of us do that.
As to unhelpful threads, letting them sink to Page 2 is really effective. Doesn't take long to figure out who to avoid, although I've learned that some System-Shakers have really good thoughts and ideas on other things.
