So where do we all really think this is going -

in the short, middle, and long-term?

The violence and toxicity amongst humans, and directed at our natural world?

Being something of an empath, I am starting to kind of freak out - starting to reach for my panic pills (maybe I should be talking to a therapist, not DU. Ya think? ).

And what are you doing while Rome burns?

I am focussing on trying to do good in the world, and taking care of those little lives dependent on me - one human adult daughter, and several animals. Taking care of their health, comfort, happiness.

I live in a beautiful little corner of this country that is subject to climate change from wildfire. We water - as long as we can. We garden organically. Encourage trees to grow for shade. Leave native shrubs for wildlife. I put sunscreen on my horse's white muzzle. I keep my old dogs inside in the heat of the day. Getting harder to feel like it's ok to leave the place. Just trying to tend to any life that needs me, that I can help.
