McGovern. (except 4 years with Carter) In the meantime we got a new name...Progressive. Maybe I'll call myself a Liberal Progressive...kind of like a Social Democrat.

It seems there's a blight on our imaginations these days. Everyone tempers their expectations of change with some pragmatic equation that factors the resistance of entrenched powers; "It doesn't work that way", "They'll never let you", "Live in the real world"... But we've seen the miraculous happen and the greatest walls fall when people are united and their leaders have the will. Bernie gives me hope because he believes in possible.

contributing to the system THEY set up for us.

Not this time. Bernie IS going to win, and anyone who thinks it isn't possible, doesn't want it to be and is best ignored.

It is so clear, the political establishment does not want Bernie heard from. They know what the people want to hear.

The American people are hungering for Bernie. They just don't know who he is yet.

Lewis Rothschild: You have a deeper love of this country than any man I've ever known. And I want to know what it says to you that in the past seven weeks, 59% of Americans have begun to question your patriotism.

President Andrew Shepherd: Look, if the people want to listen to-...

Lewis Rothschild: They don't have a choice! Bob Rumson is the only one doing the talking! People want leadership, Mr. President, and in the absence of genuine leadership, they'll listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone. They want leadership. They're so thirsty for it they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.

President Andrew Shepherd: Lewis, we've had presidents who were beloved, who couldn't find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. People don't drink the sand because they're thirsty. They drink the sand because they don't know the difference.

We've got one Party drinking sand, and another that doesn't know the difference.

Bernie Sanders represents real leadership. We'll see if he can beat out the mirage.

And the full quote is.

Some look at things that are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

But RFK made it his, and I think Shaw would have liked that.

It was Ted Kennedy who made that quote at Bobby's funeral. Here is my take on the source.

Shaw's Serpent says to Eve in Back to Methuselah, death is not an unhappy thing because it can be conquered through birth. That birth is shown when the serpent sheds its skin to be renewed. The Serpent then remonstrates with Eve over the way she is always asking Adam,

-- "Why?" He says: Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?" I made the word dead to describe my own skin that I cast when I am renewed. I call that renewal being born. --

But for the greed of a few hundred people it could be done. Greed and corruption have always been features of our nation. But the greedy and the corrupt have set new records.

Additionally, the TPP is another mega act of greed. It's like housing bubble. They are setting us up.
