Lis Smith @Lis_SmithYowza- Des Moines turnt out for @GovernorOMalley. #OMalley2016
____Wealth and power is concentrated in the hands of so few people that it's robbing people of opportunity, Democrat presidential candidate Martin O'Malley said in Iowa on Saturday night.
"There are only two paths for us: One is a sensible rebalancing for our common good, and the other is pitchforks," said O'Malley, repeating a common theme from his speeches around the nation recently.
"Not only do we need to raise the minimum wage, we need to pay overtime pay for overtime work, and we need to make it easier for people to join labor unions. We need to invest more in our children's education, make college more affordable instead of saddling our kids with a lifetime of debt," he said at his campaign's new Des Moines field office on the edge of downtown. "And we need to do a couple of other things as well."
O'Malley told Iowans he's "the only candidate in this race with 15 years of executive experience."
When someone asked about record debt, O'Malley said: "Yeah, the record debt comes from doing things that you're not willing to pay for, like invading Iraq in 2003."
"Right!" an Iowan shouted as the room broke into loud applause.
