A Very Disturbing Story From Georgia

Check out this little tidbit from Georgia...

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/11/jerad-wheeler-kicking-pregnant-woman-raven-dozier-georgia_n_1507771.html?ref=crime&icid=maing-grid7|main5|dl1|sec3_lnk1%26pLid%3D160187

Be Afraid. Be Very Afraid.

By the way, if anyone here lives in a community that has "Patch", they usually thrive on the Police Blotter entries. Check out how your own local cops are treating people these days. Occupying storm troopers.

in a county with several large urban centers. I saw some really disturbing things done by cops, but it was child's play compared to what's going on today. The sense of entitlement and the notion that the police have basically a free hand to mess with the citizenry today is frightening.

They need to stir up trouble and arrest people on bogus charges to justify their jobs.

Here's a nice disturbing quote....

He said behavior like that allegedly exhibited by the accused officers causes young black men and adolescents to fear police.

“That’s why we run when we see them,” Williams said. “We don’t run because we did something wrong. We run because they’re going to beat us or they could shoot us.”

I guess I'll be going to DeKalb County on my next vacation!

to read the police point of view on many of the abuse stories that have been posted here on DU.
When they are actually published at that site (go figure), the cognitive dissonance amongst many of the forum members there is amazing. The Kelly Thomas murder was particularly disturbing.

It is at the website that I found out about the whole "Wolf/sheepdog/sheep" meme, which I find pretty damn offensive.

and it's definitely gotten more entrenched and radicalized. My brother-in-law is a retired police chief who teaches at a police academy and tells me about the frightening responses he gets from his students when he gives them situational questions. He says the most wacked out answers come from experienced cops who are usually in supervisory positions. Their view of the constitution is "interesting" to say the least.

I think they're giving police recruits psychological exams and only hiring the guys who fail.
