Adam Lambert debuts new equality song

I don't care what you think about American Idol/Lambert filling in for Freddie etc., this song is beautiful.

There have been plenty of recent songs that have delivered similar messages, but hits like “Born This Way” and “Firework” and “F****n’ Perfect” focus on defiance and liberation. They empower us to dance our way to self-acceptance. But “Outlaws of Love” isn’t asking us to party. It’s defiant, yes, but it’s also wounded. And that’s a real part of being oppressed.

First I have to say that man is just gorgeous. And his voice. OMG, his voice. A little story, that's infuriating. When he was on that show, Idol or whatever, I was with my family. My RW family. It was so clear how much they disapproved of him. They couldn't just close their eyes and listen without judging him.

All they could think of was what Fox News said about him and that he was gay. But my GOD. Just LISTEN to that voice. It's beautiful. But it's more than that, even. It's so very honest. He exposes his soul with it.

As to this song, I absolutely love it. There's a raw quality to it and his voice reflects it. I don't mean unpolished. I mean raw like hurt, like all his nerves have been exposed. Thank you for giving it to us.

When Kris Allen won Idol that year I was disgusted with our country. When Kris Allen talked of the respect, admiration and love that he had for Adam I was impressed. He (Allen) is a far better man than his homophobic fans.

He is gorgeous, isn't he?

As we move along in this battle it becomes ever more clear to me that we shouldn't be fighting over this issue (equality) here on DU, we should be united in fighting for it. It is the most important issue.

Gives me goosebumps to think I get to see the fight and hopefully the win.
