Howza'bout this? War crimes tribunal finds Bush/Cheney, et al guilty of war crimes.

Maybe it will catch on all the way to the Hague and maybe our Supreme Court when it can't be ignored any more.

Bush Convicted of War Crimes in Absentia

Kuala Lumpur — It’s official; George W Bush is a war criminal.

In what is the first ever conviction of its kind anywhere in the world, the former US President and seven key members of his administration were yesterday (Fri) found guilty of war crimes.

Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their legal advisers Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes, Jay Bybee and John Yoo were tried in absentia in Malaysia.

The trial held in Kuala Lumpur heard harrowing witness accounts from victims of torture who suffered at the hands of US soldiers and contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan.more at link

Yeah, who cares about what they do in Malaysia. However the article goes on to explain a precedent of universal jurisdiction set for the trial of Augusto Pinochet of Chile. In other words, they hope the Hague and the United Nations will sit up and take notice. Also, they hope other countries will instigate their own tribunals until there is no place for those guys to hide.

that the more nefarious elements among us were more than willing to exploit. Those actions have been for the most part very un-American. I sometimes don't recognize my country because of these goings on since the Nixon administration.

I think this is why the Justice Department didn't want to set that precedent. Somewhere our justice system is going to have to address this overreaching of executive power down the line.

Obama's in the clear - drone strikes aren't war crimes.

OTOH, there's lots of Democrats who "got their hands dirty" following W's torture, which has limited how much this administration wants to go after them - A reasonable case could be made that the entire Congress were accessories to W's torture.

They are invasion of another country's sovereignty, without their permission. Ask Pakistan. They have repeatedly ask us to stop the drone attacks in their country. We are not at war with Pakistan.

Vague AUMF in the US Congress and vague UN resolutions provide legal cover.

A blatant violation of the War Crimes Act. What Obama is guilty of is also ignoring the War Crimes Act by not prosecuting war criminals.

Dear George W. Bush,

Congratulations! You have just won two free plane tickets to beautiful, exotic Malaysia! Please invite Richard "Dick" Cheney to accompany you.

Even if the cowards hide away all their lives...the history books will expose them as warmongers and super-criminals.
