Nikki Haley may comment on Confederate flag:

@fitsnews: Sources:
Nikki Haley to call for Confederate flag to come down at 4:00 p.m. press conference.

Fits is waaaay plugged in to SC politics.
However, the state lege hates Haley with a passion.

She could have it taken down through cleaning or dome other maneuver.
The lege HATES her. If she pulled some stunt, they may have it flown on the statehouse again.

Better to let them bring it down if possible, and they are apparently moving in that direction.

To which you commented "Nope".

I comment "Yes". My statement was true, the word had gotten out.

I read it on DU recently. The statement said that any Governor in the U.S. can carry out an executive order at the will.

Maybe the "word" wasn't true. But, the "word" had gotten out, true or not. Good idea or not. I was only talking about what I read on DU.

but it wouldn't solve anything. I agree with that. In fact that only people who could take down the flag permanently and be over with it are the people that raised in the first place.

The flag was removed from the Statehouse dome and from inside the two chambers in 2000 as part of a compromise that put it on permanent display next the Confederate soldier’s monument. It would take a vote of two-thirds of both houses to remove it as the law was written.

She could, maybe, move the 'monument' to some other place. I suggest a pig farm.
