Just received in my email:
_ _ _ _
Wisconsin is ground zero for Democrats this summerand there are only three weeks before Election Daywhich is why this breaking news just doesn't make sense.
Scott Walker and his right-wing allies have spent millions, and they'll spend millions more in the next few weeks. But Walker's poll numbers won't budge and if the Wisconsin Democrats can run the massive field program they have planned, we can win this.
But the DNC's lack of support has left a huge hole in the get out the vote budget. So MoveOn members need to step up. Can you help recall Walker?
Wisconsin citizens, with the support of activists from all around the country, have accomplished more than anyone thought possible. They've inspired all of us, and put fear into the hearts of other governors who wanted to attack the 99%. But if Walker survives the recall, we'll have wasted a year of effort.
With only a few weeks left, we can't wait for the Democratic National Committee to chip in. We have to do it ourselves.
Can you chip in $10 today via ActBlue to make sure that Scott Walker is finally recalled from office?

Thanks for all you do.

(4,982 posts)Walker survives the recall and Obama could well lose as the American Taliban are emboldened by his survival (however underhanded and criminal it is). It's important not only to a nation that has been politically and financially oppressed by corprat interests and the 1%, but also to Obama's re-election. It matters. It matters because what is going on in Wisconsin is a microcosm of just exactly the kinds of choices voters will have between the candidates nationwide in November.

* A day after Wisconsin Democrats aired their frustrations with the national party, the Democratic Governors Association has put another $700,000 into its recall ad buy and Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) has announced a trip to the state to campaign with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett. Barrett faces Gov. Scott Walker (R) on June 5.

(4,982 posts)I'd say Barrett needs all the help he can get though, so if anyone has a few bucks to spare, couldn't hurt to send it anyway. I'm did because I'm horrified about the possibility of Walker surviving the recall.

(39,405 posts)This is why I am reluctant to give money to the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC: too often the "leaders" of the party are too busy trying not to offend the wealthy to actually do what those who vote and pound the pavement for Democratic candidates want and need.
If the Democratic Party doesn't stand up for the middle class and labor rights in Wisconsin and elsewhere, progressives will eventually take their time, money, and VOTES elsewhere.
