Teen Finds Finger in Arby's Sandwich

Teen Finds Finger in Arby's Sandwich
WORKER HAD APPARENTLY INJURED HERSELF ON MEAT SLICER

Ryan Hart, 14, on Friday found a piece of finger in his junior roast beef sandwich at Arby's on N. West Ave. in Jackson, Mich.

'It was just nasty,' says 14-year-old boy who found finger piece in sandwich from Jackson, Michigan Arby's

......................................

In his last bites, Ryan Hart said he tasted something like rubber. It was tough to chew, and he said he spit the piece of flesh from his mouth.

“I was like, ‘that gots to be a finger,’” he said Wednesday evening from his Blackman Township home.

“I was about to puke... It was just nasty."

You could watch them slice it as it roasted on a spindle. They would cut medium rare for you if you asked. And they piled it high, on a huge, tasty bun.

Now you get two little slices you can see through on a tiny pasty tasteless bun that is still too large for the "meat" and to add insult to injury, the previously wonderful horsey and bbq sauces are now full of high fructose corn syrup. All for three or four times what the one from real food used to cost.

But then, when Burger King first opened, they had similar burgers. They were great burgers. Since gone to hell. Can't get a good burger any more, anywhere.

Oh well, it will turn up some time - or not.

You have to wonder about a place that would let that slide - until eaten by a customer.

When I was in school, I worked summers for a commercial construction contractor. We had a contract at the Mars Candy factory in Oak Park Il. One time we were on top of a 16,000 gallon chocolate mixing tanks building a plastic barrier wall to protect the tanks from dust for some work we were doing next door. One of the carpenters set a handful of nails on the top of the tank. Mind you, the tank's top plates were closed and sealed. A plant inspector showed up and nearly had a heart attack seeing those loose nails lying there. He told us if ONE nail had gone missing they would have to flush the entire 16,000 gallons of chocolate.

I was always impressed with the cleanliness of the Mars factory. Not to mention the impeccable landscaping of the plant. My brother did some work across town at Brach's Candy and said the place was a pig-sty.

Of course, IIRC, the Mars family was on the list of big contributors for the fight against "the death tax" Oh well.
