UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp plans to discipline UNC workers framed by James O'Keefe

Thorp's UNC page makes him out to be some sort of Renaissance Man Genius. However, his promise to discipline UNC employees based on James O'Keefe's selectively edited "gotcha" video reveals him to be just another grade-A dope.

O'Keefe's team went undercover at UNC secretly taping at least two UNC officials, while O'Keefe's operative discussed a voter fraud scheme.

One university staffer laughed and at one point seemed to even encourage the plan.

In a statement to ABC11, UNC Chancellor Holden Thorp wrote, "While the scenarios described in the video were false, some of our administrators responded inappropriately, and we are taking disciplinary action against those who used poor judgment in their approach to these student imposters."

Thorp continued, "Our administrators are instinctively supportive of our students, and they empathize with them. But regardless of the questionable tactics used to elicit their comments, these employees should have offered better advice and guidance."

1. Genius probably doesn't know how this editing stuff works

He has no way of knowing what the employees were responding to when they laughed or supposedly encouraged something.

Maybe someone should splice together some innocuous speeches and announcements of his into an O'Keefe style damning video and show him what can be done with the magic of technology.
