Among the evidence in the Trayvon Martin case released by the Florida state prosecutor yesterday was a 15-minute interview with a former work collegue of George Zimmerman. The man, who is not identified by name, says that Zimmerman relentlessly bullied him at work.

Zimmerman, according to the witness, targeted him because he was Middle Eastern. He repeatedly called the man a “fucking moron” and mocked him using the voice of “Achmed the terrorist.” Zimmerman’s stories about the man would involve “bombing,” “I’ll kill your family” and other “jokes” about “Middle Eastern stuff.” According to the man, this went on “for days and days.”

GZ sounds like a immature child, who wants to fit in but is awkward and a bully. A bully even to management. He thinks he knows more than even his bosses. A real asshole.

I would think that to your average white racist GZ is not particularly white, certainly not anglo or WASPy. With this testimony and the shooting, GZ seems to be targeting people who are even less acceptable to racists than he is.

Sadly, it has worked sort of. GZ has become a hero to racists. Sick stuff.

by his employers about the bullying, very smoothly and convincingly denying it. Zimmerman sounds like a practiced and proficient liar.

13. Wow, if the prosecution doesn't have something better than this,

they are in trouble. The stuff I've seen so far shouldn't convict Zimmerman of anything. One big problem for the prosecution is that there appear to be no witnesses who can testify as to whether Martin approached Zimmerman (as Zimmerman claims), whether Zimmerman threatened Martin, and whether Martin threw the first punch.

If the prosecution can prove that the screams for help are Martin's, then Zimmerman is probably toast, but can they? News reports say that the FBI could not determine whether the screams are Zimmerman's or Martin's, and Martin's father told the police that it wasn't his son screaming. Perhaps the prosecution plans to use some of the private audio experts that have claimed that the screams cannot be Zimmerman's. Otherwise they have no way to rebut the one witness who was within 30 feet of the incident who said that Zimmerman was the one screaming for help.

The prosecution will do everything it can to pick away at Zimmerman's credibility, of course, but all those DUers who want desperately to believe that Zimmerman is guilty should be crossing their fingers that the prosecution can do better than that.
