Has anyone asked Kim Davis about her personal disregard of the Bible?

Yes, she's "living her beliefs" regarding gay marriage but has anyone thrown her own hypocrisy to her face? I'm not talking about Leviticus but about divorce and remarriage. Lots of reference to that in the New Testament, even quotes attributed to Jesus.

I would like to hear her response. I'm sure she'll say "none of your business" -- yet she throws herself into others' business.

Years ago when I quit smoking, I tended to give my smoking friends a bit o' grief. My friend and mentor, Bob G., once told me:
"I know you feel good about yourself, and that's fine, just take it easy with your smoking friends. Remember, there is none more virtuous than the reformed whore."

My apologies to sex workers, no slight intended.

She's a recent convert to the Jeebus Hates Da Gays church with her getting all right with Jeebus only in the last four years. Before that she got impregnated by her third husband whilst married to her first one.

She gave birth to twins five months after divorcing her first husband. They were fathered by her third husband but adopted by her second. Davis worked at the clerk's office at the time of each divorce and has since remarried.

7. She dedicated her life to Jesus after all that. In their minds, there's no hypocrisy at all.

For them, that's the miracle. No matter what you do, if you repent and accept Christ as your savior, you're good and that's it. Your job now is to follow the rules and get others to follow her, which is what she's doing. Going after her past is a nonstarter and in fact strengthens their resolve; they see it as persecution.

she ought to first be sure they have not committed any of the other sins that she is supposed to be against - divorce, adultery, fornication, etc.

To further her own agenda.

That said, I am a Christian. I and others here on DU take a lot of heat for that sometimes, but believe me, it is not my intent to force my religious beliefs on anyone. And THAT is the issue with Ms. Davis.

She is attempting to FORCE her personal religious beliefs on others. Now, she has the right to believe any way that she sees fit. In her personal life and personal capacity. No problem there.

But she does NOT have the right to use the vehicle of her office as County Clerk to force her beliefs on anyone else. That's where HER rights stop - when they interfere with someone else's rights.

I am happy that she's been called to federal court and will have to answer for her actions.
