No confederate flags at the fair (NY)

Confederate flags should not be on display or offered for sale at the Columbia County Fair this year, fair officials said.

They dont allow vulgar or offensive signs, placards or banners, he said. Theyve been very successful at preventing it. That (policy) is the lever they intend to use
The fairgrounds are owned by the Columbia County Agricultural Society. They enforce their policy; theyre allowed to do it. Its not unlike the shopping mall.
Hughes said he and Grattan plan to talk to County Attorney Robert Fitzsimmons about drafting a resolution to ban the Confederate flag from all county municipal properties, and look at language to keep them away from all events sponsored by the county government ...
