Alternative history

I can't say that I'm a great fan of alternative history. I can't seem to get into them. I do like dystopian novels, which my wife thinks is a little weird for someone my age, but there you go.

In any case, here's an alternative history suggestion. What if Fox News was never born? I'll grant you Saint Ronald and even the worst president in American history. The only change in my alternative universe is no Fox News. Fox TV is okay. Just not Fox News and its associated idiocies. So, what if a new network was not founded on October 7, 1996?

How would things be different?

And, for our writers here at DU, consider that a suggestion for your next novel.

would not have had its great nemesis? TDS might have been just "another" show and not the great show it became, perhaps?

OTOH TDS would still have had the GW Bush admin to counter, yet, without FOX, Bush might have not been called the winner on network news that fateful night and Gore would have rightfully assumed the Presidency!

Boggles the mind!
