by Harry Peese
At a private meeting today in New York, Donald Trump, the leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016, announced a surprise measure he plans to take. Trump stated, "On my first day in the White House, I will file bankruptcy for the United States in the Supreme Court." This shocking announcement immediately raised questions from the attendees.
When asked by one presidential pundit, "Why?" Trump answered, "I've had great success in building my own fabulous wealth through multiple bankruptcy filings. Why shouldn't the US take that step and clear the books for a fresh start? I'm worth billions, you know! "
"What about our debts? What about Social Security?" another participant, who hid his face behind his hat, shouted. Trump's terse response: "What about them? Let them all print their own money or open a casino or something. F-word them all!"

(58,785 posts)Uhoh, I bought the story -- but because it's about him. I'm not at all sure that in Trump's bizarre, disordered mind this wouldn't make some kind of sense. If a billionaire is powerful enough to self-cancel his own debts many times, and he has done, how much more able would an entire nation seem to him?

(2,337 posts)You could put "George Bush literally turned into a bat and flew into the belfry of Dick Cheney's cursed mountain stronghold" and there would be at least 3-4 rubes here who honest to god believe it.
