but that doesn't seem to be happening. The decline of the laity isn't good news, as Catholics have always tended to be a lot more progressive then their Protestant cousins.

Still, the hierarchy isn't going to be able to function as a political and economic powerhouse for very much longer, and that might be very, very good news.

Clinging to the Aristotelian view of the female half of the human race will be their undoing.
