Oops Rick Perry says broken clock is right once a day
Published: Sept 3, 2015 4:16 p.m. ET
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry has something of a penchant for putting his foot in his mouth. And it looks like the Republican presidential candidate has done so again.
In an interview with Fox News, Perry was asked about speculation coming from Donald Trump that Perry would drop out of the race.
A broken clock is right once a day, Perry replied with a smile, before adding that he was still in the race.
Alert viewers were quick to note a broken clock is usually right twice a day, both in the morning and in the evening.

(3,447 posts)...that they're timed, so since they're always running behind but never by more than an hour or two per day, the broken clock is only right once a day. The Governor's words are quite clear and any right-thinking American understands what he was saying. I don't know why there is a need to focus attention on such small problems when there is a crisis of horrible proportions in the Middle East. Are the Democrats so uncaring that all they can do is attack Governor Perry?"
Shandris, failing to be a good Republican Spinmeister. Ah well, suppose I'll have to try a new business idea.
((Tell me you can't imagine some spokesperson saying that!))

(7,143 posts)refers to a stopped clock. A broken clock, depending on the nature of the dysfunction, may never be "right" (which is relative anyway).
I think Governor Goodhair is the exemplar of a broken clock.

A broken clock? Broken? So if the batteries die, is a clock broken? Perry and the deep metaphysical musings...
