Anybody else out there hooked on any of the podcasts on the
Adnan Syed case out of Baltimore (Serial, Undisclosed: The State Vs Adnan Syed, Serial Dynasty, and so on).
I have a friend that got hooked on the case and has avidly been listening to various podcasts and reading whatever she can find on line. I finally started listening to Serial, then Undisclosed and am now on Serial Dynasty.
The police investigation was beyond shoddy. There were too many instances where they failed to follow through to verify information. There key witness was a known liar who kept lying throughout the investigation. The investigator came up with their theory of the crime and by golly they were going to force the evidence to match their theory rather then allow the evidence to bring them to the truth. The prosecutor was dispicable and it appears that he flat out committed purjury in one of the hearings that the Adnan's attorney filed to obtain relief. The defense attorney had healthy problems by the time of the trial and the prosecution ended up walking all over her.
There were plenty of suspects to the crime and they never bothered to thoroughly investigate each one.
It is sad because one kid got railroaded into a life sentence.
