Hey Kim(eh) go read the constitution - then stop imposing your rules on everyone else.

(4,973 posts)the courts impose a moratorium from her profiting on this situation in any way. She needs to just shut up and resign if she has too many personal conflicts with her job.

(9,992 posts)The GOP leader of the KY Senate already asked the judge to delay ruling on the contempt so that they could rewrite the laws of the state to exempt her from issuing marriage licenses. This would have required a special session at taxpayer expense, mind you.
So, I would be too sure that the Republican-controlled KY legislature isn't still foaming at the mouth to jump on the Save Our Lady of Perpetual Bigotry bandwagon.

(9,992 posts)but the legislature is back in regular session in January. I hope Kim Davis is long forgotten by then, but I think the chance that they will take ANY action to impeach her is extremely slim.

(34,845 posts)But the fact that the GOP, in general, is not organizing to defend Davis points to this being a battle that is already lost. It's just going to take a little longer for it to sink in.

The governor and the state Lege has NUTHIN' to do with this.
It's called "jurisdiction" and lots of fundies have real serious problems understanding the concept of "jurisdiction".
She also should be busted for a state court misdemeanor charge for not carrying out the duties of her office, but that is another question, not the one about gay marriage that the Supremes addressed.
