TRUMP: I Never Went To Vietnam, But 'I Felt That I Was In The Military'

well then, plastic soldier - tell that to OUR TROOPS!!!!

Donald Trump believes that because he attended a military high school, he has an understanding of what it is like to be in the military, despite deferring the Vietnam War draft for medical reasons.

"My number was so incredible and it was a very high draft number. Anyway so I never had to do that, but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people," Trump told Michael D’Antonio, the author of the forthcoming book "Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success," according to a preview in the New York Times.

Trump attended the New York Military Academy from eighth grade through the end of high school where he participated in military drills and encountered some instructors who had served in the military, according to the Times.

He told D'Antonio that at the academy, he got "more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military."

One of my ex-colleagues who is very active in the republican Iowa party was sure that jeb would get the nomination and thought trump was absurd. No reason for discussion.

Now she's unwilling to say anything bad about the trumpster, just that obama and hillary are bad for the country.

Once they've contracted the disease (usually through their parents) it is very hard to intervene and return them back to logical thinking.

All I can say is I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry that he said it, that it's being carried in the press, that he, a candidate for the President of the United States, Commander in Chief, is diminishing what you gave of yourself, what so many thousands of young men, and many women, gave their lives for, and so very many families lost.

The absolute, unmitigated gall to say this makes me physically ill. I'm truly sorry.

I'm the third poster that quoted this because it is so fucking unbelievable. After a few laps around the track in camo briefs he got into his chauffeured limo and got a massage to work out those leg cramps. Does one know that he was sent to this quasi-military elitist school because he had a behavior problem. His parents probably sent him there to straighten him out.

Did you ever notice how Trump has to elevate himself? Even his draft number was "incredible", and he got "more training". Jesus does this guy EVER do anything normal? I bet his bowel movements are incredible because he's so full of incredible amounts of shit.

With 16/17 bozos in the republican race, we can have a pretty well-covered spectrum of stupidity.

Feel free to correct my rankings (I'm going from least intelligent to most, IMHO.):

Rick Santorum
Rick Perry
Mike Huckabee
Scott Walker
Bobby Jindal
Ted Cruz
Marco Rubio
Jeb Bush
Ted Cruz
Chris Christie
Carly Fiorina
Rand Paul
Donald Trump
Jim Gilmore
George Pataki

This was actually quite hard. Some of these are obviously trying to look stupid to appeal to the base. Some are probably better managed to appear less stupid. Oh, well.

West Point is considered the top Academy in the Army and has produced some terrific officers.

With that said---training them was pretty damn difficult---because---just like street smarts, they had no field smarts. It's one thing learning from a book, it's another when performing the real task.

on the front line. What an insult to the troops that did spend time on the front line.

We need a DC memorial for people like Trump who fought the war in a military academy.

That NYMA is where NYC rich folks send their bratty boys to school when they become too much to handle. The only "military" training that he got was marching on the field. The school is nothing more than preppy boys who think that their feces smell like roses, and are loud-mouthed about it. Always was, always will be.

That they grew up within walking distance of NYMA. They were just rich boys but the local kids loved them - they partied a lot, had lots of money, and could buy beer. That was about it.

90. High draft number got him out? The lottery wasn't until December 1969.

He was almost 24 years old before the first lottery numbers were drawn. How did he dodge it from 1964 until those with the lowest numbers started getting drafted in January 1970?

Hell, they can even mock the vets who did serve while they were hanging out on french beaches or partying in prep school.

Meanwhile, actual decorated vets like John Kerry get smeared as traitors to their country, and the media plays along with it, acting as if the discredited swift boat liars had equal merit to actual facts.

compare some cozy prep school with what went on over there, you megalomaniacal, ignorant, hate-filled waste of skin and resources.
