well then, plastic soldier - tell that to OUR TROOPS!!!!
Donald Trump believes that because he attended a military high school, he has an understanding of what it is like to be in the military, despite deferring the Vietnam War draft for medical reasons.
"My number was so incredible and it was a very high draft number. Anyway so I never had to do that, but I felt that I was in the military in the true sense because I dealt with those people," Trump told Michael DAntonio, the author of the forthcoming book "Never Enough: Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success," according to a preview in the New York Times.
Trump attended the New York Military Academy from eighth grade through the end of high school where he participated in military drills and encountered some instructors who had served in the military, according to the Times.
He told D'Antonio that at the academy, he got "more training militarily than a lot of the guys that go into the military."

(17,997 posts)High school, war, absolutely equal. Dodging those bullets, walking through the elephant grass in the hallway, picking up pieces of what's left of your buddy in math class. The comparison is scary they're so alike.

(17,997 posts)All I can say is I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry that he said it, that it's being carried in the press, that he, a candidate for the President of the United States, Commander in Chief, is diminishing what you gave of yourself, what so many thousands of young men, and many women, gave their lives for, and so very many families lost.
The absolute, unmitigated gall to say this makes me physically ill. I'm truly sorry.

After a few laps around the track in camo briefs he got into his chauffeured limo and got a massage to work out those leg cramps. Does one know that he was sent to this quasi-military elitist school because he had a behavior problem. His parents probably sent him there to straighten him out.
Did you ever notice how Trump has to elevate himself? Even his draft number was "incredible", and he got "more training". Jesus does this guy EVER do anything normal? I bet his bowel movements are incredible because he's so full of incredible amounts of shit.

West Point is considered the top Academy in the Army and has produced some terrific officers.
With that said---training them was pretty damn difficult---because---just like street smarts, they had no field smarts. It's one thing learning from a book, it's another when performing the real task.

The difference is that my lightly trained brother has a bronze star and two air medals, each representing 25 combat assaults into hot LZ's in the A Shau. It just proves once again that the spoiled rich kids get all the goodies and only the working class kids are called on to produce...

(53,339 posts)I know your brother went through the hellish fighting at Ripcord, while Trump was braving those nightmarish pillow fights at his academy.
It's all pretty much the same thing, right?
And while yor brother did 2 months of Basic Training and 2 months of Advanced Infantry Training, Trump marched drill and ceremonies training on the parade field for years!
But seriously, to borrow a Vietnamese expression, Trump may be rich but he isn't worth your brother's little fingernail.

Funny how all these "feelings" are only about things that they think will help them get elected, isn't it?
I mean, we never hear, "I cheated on an exam. Oh, wait, as it turned out, I never actually did that. I only felt I had cheated."
