Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis was ordered released from jail today.

U.S. District Judge David Bunning, who jailed her for contempt of court Thursday for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, ordered her freed on the condition that she not interfere with her deputies, who have been granting licenses to gay and straight couples since Friday.

Bunning said the office had complied with his order.

...her non-relative subordinates aren't exactly fond of her. Her mother was elected to and held the county clerk position for years while Kim was employed under her, also for years. When mom retired, Kim won and hired her own son as a deputy clerk. Good old city government nepotism.
