Eye Of The Tiger: Kim Davis Basks In The Glory of Martyrdom
Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 9/8/2015 4:40 pm
Mike Huckabees presidential campaign organized a rally this afternoon in front of the jail where anti-gay Kentucky clerk Kim Davis was being held in the custody of U.S. Marshals after a federal judge found her in contempt of court for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses. Huckabee brought along with him not only Davis attorney, Liberty Counsels Mat Staver, but also Religious Right leaders including Brian Brown, Rick Scarborough, Tony Perkins and the Benham brothers. GOP gubernatorial nominee Matt Bevin also addressed the rally and Huckabees 2016 rival Ted Cruz met with Davis upon her release. As fate would have it, Davis was released from custody just hours before Huckabees rally, so she came out to speak alongside Huckabee, Staver and her husband, taking the stage to Survivor's Eye of the Tiger.

Having fun today. Every time someone comes out of the bathroom, Todd plays "Eye of the Tiger" and we all cheer like crazy.

(182,736 posts)But I do have a funny story about that song.
We were playing basketball - 21- and a friend of ours was not a really good player. In fact he was horrible. We have music playing in someone's car, hot day, drinking beer (this was 30 years ago). That song comes on and our friend suddenly becomes the whirling ball of energy. Every slightly loose ball was his. In the 3 minutes of the song he scored 13 points. Once the song ended it was clank city all over again. Never scored a point before or after the song was on.

(6,280 posts)...let politics or religion dictate the enjoyment I get out of what I consider good music. If I did, I would be much the poorer for it. The one exception to that rule would be Ted "the perv" Nugent. Lucky for me that his music sounds like puking garbage anyway.
