David Moore, who was among those originally denied a license in Rowan, said he was surprised by the ruling that let Davis go even though he was not happy to see her jailed. He said he only wanted Davis to do her job and treat people equally. "To see her paraded out as some kind of martyr, I don't like the way that looks," Moore said. "I don't believe she is a martyr. She is not in jail because she is a Christian. She's in jail because of contempt of court."
Tuesday's rally outside the jail drew thousands to the small Eastern Kentucky town of Grayson, where leaders from religious and conservative groups urged Christians to be prepared to stand up for religious convictions, even against the courts and government officials. Speakers also took shots at Gov. Steve Beshear, who has declined to call a special session on the matter.
Headlining the event, Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said Davis supporters do not want to see America become the smoldering remains of a great republic, and that Americas creation occurred only through the providence of God.
The only explanation is that God intervened, he said. And I believe this week God showed up, and he showed up in the form of an elected Democrat named Kim Davis.

(18,837 posts)I'm kind of glad he said it, because short of saying that Kim receives orders to kill from her dog, Huckabee pretty much set the bar for crazy on this one.
I'm a Christian, and I am so distanced from this woman and her "martyrdom" that I can't even put it into words. She didn't do her job. She was found in contempt and sent to jail. This is not a "war on religion."

It was a recurring segment on Hee Haw. I used to watch the show on a 19" portable tube-type Zenith black and white TV. It was the only set in the house that could channels above the VHF channels (2-13). Hee Haw was on channel 20.

(957 posts)if the persecution becomes overwhelming for her, she can always send her resume to Hobby Lobby. With referances like Mike Huckabee and Ted Cruz she will probobly shoot up the ladder: faster then the rapture.

(63,203 posts)Assuming that we don't believe Ms. Davis to be God incarnate, how might we reject Huckabee's claim?
On what possible basis can we reject or accept any person's claim of divinity? What evidence?

(14,918 posts)She cannot allow her name to be associated with something that conflicts with Gods definition of marriage, Staver said.
How bizarre, considering the fact that she has no problem with signing off on marriage licenses for people who have prior divorces, and is herself wallowing in a biblically adulterous bed.

(14,530 posts)up as Kim Davis and what does she do with her new found powers? Heal sick kids? feed the hungry? Noooo, that is so New Testamenty. She uses he power to say she will continue to discriminate and hate.
Huckie, I can tell you why she is registered as a Democrat. Someone was probably already running on the republican ticket for CC. So she had to run on the Dem ticket. Most likely to wrest control of the office away from her family. But don't let that lie from GodKim prevent you from idolizing her.
Why is no one calling her out on that lie?
