I haven't heard a peep, but seems like there's a clear civil rights violation here. But then they might be waiting for the dust to settle.
Also, in such a case, if they win, can the judge order that damages come from her personally, and not from crowdsourcing?

(129 posts)involved. As yet, for that particular couple, no decision has been made on if they are going to sue. Mostly they are more interested in getting/being married right now.

(4,243 posts)That's why she was ordered to start issuing marriage licenses. When she refused she was held in contempt as part of the lawsuit. The lawsuit, if I'm understanding it correctly, is still ongoing.

(5,064 posts)I believe the lawsuit you refer to was to force her to issue a license. The lawsuit I'm talking about is for damages, for violating their civil rights.
Both outcomes *might* part of the same lawsuit, but...dunno.

The lawsuit is proceeding, this is just the motion stages so far."
