Is this the next phase of media control?
We already have Koch influence of PBS, and now Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox will own 73% of a new company called National Geographic Partners.
I raised my children watching the informative programming of PBS and National Geographic and enjoyed the array of interesting programs offered, but no more. Even the History Channel has become hard to stand with its lineup of 'manly men' with hardly any teeth and big-haired guys suggesting extraterrestrial involvement in human history at every turn. For crap's sake, some people believe in Zombies as real threats now, too.
Crap!

(2,016 posts)when they became the Doomsday Prepper Channel. Since then, it's Law Enforcement and Drugs piled into the "line-up" (They only have 3 themes: Off the grid, cops and drugs.)
Don't get me started on History and H2....
Discovery Communications is getting close to to the bottom, too (pick anyone of their channels - they have become TRS - Totally Random Shit). Especially when they "program dump": Take crappy shit from one channel, dump it on another and call it "new".
<End rant>
