https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/Once installed go to Tools, Options, Load/save and change the default to Office 2010/2013XMl and people with M$ Office can read your documents. Otherwise it will save them in its own proprietary format that M$ pretends doesn't exist.
