On 9/11 - A memory of Bush

"I don't know where he is," Bush replied when asked why the terrorist hadn't been caught. "I-I'll repeat what I said, Bush sputtered, "I am truly not that concerned about him."

This statement floored me. I thought, "Christ, the man doesn't care about the terrorist who killed nearly 3,000 Americans, caused billions in damage, and stunned a nation." Not to be concerned? At that moment I thought Bush was giving Bin Laden a pass and that Ben Laden was a dupe somehow in a larger scheme.
