No racial profiling in the James Blake case?

Last edited Fri Sep 11, 2015, 01:02 PM - Edit history (1)

Here is a Harvard educated well to do man who was a tennis player who was tackled by some NY cops because of "mistaken identity." He was supposedly identified by a witness as a suspect in a cellphone theft ring.
My guess is that he was id'd by some white person who says, "They all look alike" and the cops saw an opportunity to tackle a black man. The crime in question is not a victimless crime by any means, but it is a non violent one and it should not have taken five cops to tackle him. He also cooperated from the start and there was no reason to use force. He got an apology from the PD. As stated, he's well off, well known, and well educated. Otherwise I doubt that he would have gotten an apology and in fact may have had charges filed against him.

I agree...he only got an apology because he's famous...lots of others out there treated the same and the NYPD ignores it...they can't ignore this.
