People need to learn to not use real information on the intertubes

It took me literally less than one and a half minutes to find the address of the DUer that was sent the nasty letter. Just remember if you put your personal information out there especially on Facebook where people can verify who you using pictures bad bad idea.

Don't use your work email or Verizon FIOS or any email account that contains information like your real name. Use a crappy fake yahoo account for signing up your Kroger card or a DU account or Twitter. Just FYI-

My FIOS account is for important shit like receiving documentation from my Tax guy or Travelers.

It's easy to figure out my address based on my wife's facebook activity and other searches that a lot of the masses don't understand. Outside of that not a whole lot you can do. Also remember DON'T POST SHIT ONLINE WHEN YOU ARE ON VACATION! Third day on the beach and my friend's son was about to upload a picture to facebook. His dad about threw a fit- You are going to announce to the fucking WORLD we are all 880 miles away from the house!

Because you can back up and find parent directories from the link and people can see if you've put personal photos that share more than you'd planned. I have noticed much less photo threads in the Lounge where they used to be a regular thing, so I guess that's good.

You have to if you want to buy something. The real point here is do NOT give too much information about your personal life to anyone you do not PERSONALLY and DIRECTLY know or trust on the WWW.

Doing so increases your chances of identity theft or RL threats imo.

And if you are a social maven and have social accounts all over the WWW...you can be traced, tracked and found in RL. People do need to remember - we live in the Information Age. Be wary of strangers, is always great advice.

As the great Buckaroo Banzai says, Hey, hey, hey — don't be mean. We don't have to be mean. 'Cause, remember: no matter where you go... there you are.

You don't have to let anyone else live in your head, most especially someone you don't like, and don't respect.

Those unpleasant people who search for pictures of me on the internet will eventually find pictures of my shiny white ass.

Hah, hah. They may consider themselves mooned.

Those unpleasant people who invade my physical space, I leave to Spot.

I choose not to be afraid.

Life is a state of mind.
