Say hello to the new leader of the UK Labour party: Jeremy Corbyn

Veteran left wing Labour MP Jeremy Corbyn has been named the new leader of the UK Labour party. To say that he is a major departure from previous Labour leaders like Tony Blair is an understatement. This is the UK equivalent of Bernie Sanders winning the Democratic nomination next year.

2. Trouble is...

...after Blair's 2 landslides, a lot of people in Labour thought they were above being held culpable. The result has been a party in decline ever since that 2001 landslide, destroyed in Scotland and being made mincemeat of by the Tories. The old Blairite approach has left Labour shorn of purpose and unable to make positive arguments.

It's clearly time for a change. And even if the new leader does have plenty of faults, the 3 "mainstream" candidates were all far more unappealling.
