Kasich will be the Republican nominee....

http://blogs.cfr.org/lindsay/2015/08/21/campaign-2016-john-kasich-gop-presidential-candidate/

Once the hubbub stops and everyone finds out that all of the Republicans are complete idiots, John Kasich will emerge as the front runner and the only one not completely insane.

He will run slightly to the right of Hillary, giving the Republican voters and alternative.

approved candidate.

I think Ben Carson will be the surprise. Like Trump, he has never served in public office. Unlike Trump, the religious right demographic will follow him.

At this time, Trump, Carson, and Fiorina are the leaders. Unless one of them becomes the accepted standard bearer for the Republican establishment, and thereby gets dropped like a hot potato, it will be a three way race until they start counting votes in the primary.

But he has no ground game. Does he even have any money?

I think if Trump maintains his lead through the holiday season, the nomination is his. And at this point, he's pulling away from everyone.

Talk to the most sane Republican you can find on some level a stance on wild wedge issue emerges. All of them can tell you (in the words of my barber) "what they are against, seldom if ever what they actually want to see done".

If that kind of a thing mattered to Republican grass roots, Huntsman would have been the 2012 nominee. He didn't even get off the ground.

Trump don't want it (Why the dump of information about his connections with the Clinton's today)and Cruz is detestable. Kasich is sounding pretty Presidential. Even made some almost sane statements today about gay rights.... I would be concerned, especially with candidates as flawed as both the Democrats are (Bernie's a commie and Hillary is hated universally).
