They should just attach a selfie-cam to Trump and live stream him day and night.
Do they pay Chris Hayes? For what?

(4,149 posts)The ONLY reason I still kept cable at home was to watch MSNBC. Now that they have joined the other team, I have no use for them and consequently no longer need cable. It's so wonderful not having to pay the huge cable bill every month!
I can use the money I save to buy subscriptions to things I want to read. Fuck MSNBC.

(112,124 posts)Every now and then the livestream skips though. I'm also watching on a PC with 12 Mbps broadband speed. The other night the skipping was fairly bad, but most of the time it works as well as watching on TV. It might be a matter of the download speed on you iPhone--I have an older Android phone and livestream videos or YouTube videos don't work on it unless there is WiFi available. I live in a rural area about 25 miles away from the nearest cell phone tower so I won't even try to watch any videos on the phone.

(3,233 posts)she's only as liberal as her corporate bosses allow her to be. I'd love to see her jump ship.
MSNBC has always sucked. As do Fox and CNN.
If you don't want corporate news, ditch the Big 3 and go elsewhere.
Stardust
(3,894 posts)Wouldn't you love to know how she's feeling about being told what to report on, and what not to? I know I should go elsewhere for news, but I've been an MSNBC watcher for so long, it's become a fixture in my life. Old habits die hard, but with the incessant Trump-ing, it hasn't been such a big adjustment. What news outlets do you rely on?

(3,233 posts)I think Rachel's choices are endless. She'd be great at talk radio, if she hasn't tried that.

giving enough attention to Bernie. It sounded insincere to me...almost like someone in charge of programming is doling out quotas to the hosts. The next [insert number of days here] news cycles:Joe and Mika; after that, Matthews; then Hayes...and so on. Ari Melber who was subbing for O'Donnell, said the show was not going to be about Trump. So, he apparently got the green light to cover other stuff
[The following comment was actually meant for Texas Towlie.. Sorry. ] Thanks again. My only real concern in cutting the cord was not being able to watch MSNBC. It was my evening ritual, for better or worse. But thanks to you, I do still have the option of watching them again, or maybe not. This is not a fun silly season.

(59,501 posts)Trump is a megalomaniac and a demogogue. The reaction of that crowd to him was scary. Don't forget Limbaugh and others primed a large group of people to not just accept someone like that, buy to follow him.

(3,233 posts)are focused on Trump. Trump serves their purposes very very well.
Fox sucks. CNN sucks. MSNBC sucks. Find one program on any of them that doesn't have the hosts' names attached, as if the hosts were rock stars.
If you want the news without the self-aggrandizement, Al-Jazeera America is for you.

(1,364 posts)It and Link TV which has Deutsche-Welle and France 24 and others. I listen to AJ if I want discussion by people who know of what they say. And, it is getting better week by week. People just need to get over their aversion conditioning by the US media to an Arabic name. Ya know, kinda like Algebra.

I do wish they'd change their name, to AJ America or something like that. It's not fair, but there are just way too many people who surely make uninformed assumptions about the kind of news it carries because of the name.

Al-Jazeera is very good at impartiality.

I watch absolutely zero news on TV. But I won't get rid of my cable package in the slightest. Far too much solid entertainment and movies that I like to watch and enjoy myself and with my family.

Short diary; more of a comment.
I turn on TV to see what's going on and listen to Chris Hayes or Rachel Maddow or whatever and MSNBC has an uninterrupted rally of Trump on. And he is just rambling and bloviating.
for Christ sake I can't watch it. And yet complete silence for Sander's rally's or even Clinton. I know they are going right and trump gets views but for fuck sake. Whatever happened to journalistic balance and equal time.
Sorry rant over.
