local students impressed Melissa Harris Perry!
She came to my city to give a talk about Black Lives Matter. She showed a slide of the USA flag and asked for impressions. She was surprised when the students said things like "imperialism," "greed," and "white supremacy." She said she thought it must be some kind of Ferguson effect since we're just a couple of hours away.
I was so proud of them!!
