George Takei: "Let us be clear: This woman is no hero to be celebrated."

Well this is a bit of a circus. So let us be clear: This woman is no hero to be celebrated. She broke her oath to uphold the Constitution and defied a court order so she could deny government services to couples who are legally entitled to be married. She is entitled to hold her religious beliefs, but not to impose those beliefs on others. If she had denied marriage certificates to an interracial couple, would people cheer her? Would presidential candidates flock to her side? In our society, we obey civil laws, not religious ones. To suggest otherwise is, simply put, entirely un-American.

aren't all that interested in running for office. Would Ashley Judd have done worse against Mitch McConnell than Alison Grimes (a 15 point loss)? I remember growing up in Connecticut in the 1980s and people were clamoring for Paul Newman to run against liberal Republican Lowell Weicker, but it never happened. (Instead, we got Joe Lieberman in the next election cycle... sigh)

Republicans, on the other hand, seem to almost worship Republican celebrities.

hands held high. The crowd of supporters around her grows, now with interviews of gasbag local ex-sheriff who says he would have arrested federal judge.

On another Herr Evillocks is playing his xenophobia and bigotry to every growing supporters. Hoods, made in China, are available in the lobby.

Un-American is becoming more mainstream every day. Will be interesting to see how big it grows.

Wish someone would ask her about it.

But she probably would just say God is "helping" her to be a nasty, First Amendment-violating bigot.
