Partisan divides emerge when considering whether the U.S. should take in some of the refugees. Overall, 55% favor that and 44% oppose it. Most Republicans are opposed (55%) while Democrats (65%) and independents (55%) are mostly in favor. Those who think the U.S. bears some of the responsibility for the crisis are more apt to favor taking in refugees, with 71% in that group saying they favor allowing refugees to come to the U.S., compared with just 35% of those who say the U.S. is not responsible for the crisis.

(6,342 posts)55% of Republicans means they are nearly split. I wouldnt have guessed that.
And 35% of Democrats don't want to take any. That's higher than I thought it would be.
The numbers tell me Americans are only lukewarm with the idea of them coming here.

(23,946 posts)To equal Germany America should be taking 400,000 regime change refugees America was instrumental in creating.....it would be a great boon to underpopulated America.
Surely 330,000,000 mostly very rich folks in a vast country can handle that, not to mention the boost to the economy long term.
This is an opportunity for America to let the chickens in to come to a new home to roost after Western politic policy destroyed their homes, because that is what is happening.
