Hunting is officially not allowed in Omaha city parks, even if the arrow never leaves the bow.
The Omaha City Council voted 7-0 Tuesday to approve an ordinance that bans hunting in parks.
Councilman Garry Gernandt proposed the ordinance after city prosecutors decided the existing ordinance largely didnt ban the actions of a man who went bow hunting at Zorinsky Lake.
The man was fined for firing a nonexplosive projectile and littering with deer bait.
