Give your quick take on each of the republican presidential candidates.

I just watched the second debate. Here's my quick take.

Walker - Koch brothers. Union buster. Boring.
Carson - Nice guy but pretty whacky.
Huckabee - Evangelical. Abortion. Kill Muslims.
Rubio - Cuba!
Christie - New Jersey. 9/11.
Trump - Wild Card. Is he the only republican who doesn't want to cut taxes on the rich? Build a fence.
Bush - George W. Barf.
Fiorina - Pretty cold. Memorizing lines about Lady Liberty and Lady Justice.
Cruz - Nerd. Mean. War!
Paul - Frat boy libertarian.
Kasich - Ohio! Looks like a traveling salesman.

They're promoting failed policies.

Cut taxes on the rich, spend more on the military, no diplomacy, repeal the ACA, more war. No legitimate plan to improve jobs or wages. Blame immigrants and Isis and Obama for our challenges. Appoint right wing ideologues to the Supreme Court.

It's pretty funny watching them debate.

They talk about reducing the deficit. While promising to cut taxes on the rich and increase military spending.

Same crap that got us into the mess when President Obama took office.

The W. Administration's policies drove us into a ditch. They are talking about driving us off a cliff.

I said Cuba! right before Rubio mentioned it.

My friend said Benghazi right before Fiorina mentioned it.

I said Abortion right before Huckabee mentioned it.

My friend said 9/11 right before Christie mentioned it.

I said Make American Great right before Trump mentioned it.

When Walker or Bush talked we usually went 'blah blah blah.'

When they were talking about who they'd want on the twenty dollar bill and Huckabee said his wife we made barfing noises. When Carson said his mom we laughed. When Bush said Margaret Thatcher we both yelled 'Your mom!' When Fiorina said she wouldn't change it and started blabbing about Lady Justice and Lady Liberty I said it sounded like she was running for sixth grade Chalk Board Monitor.

That makes him sweat.

Walker looks like Lurch from the Addams Family.

Cruz looks like the guy who got bullied in school but turned into an even bigger bully. His eyes are beady and his ears are pointed. My friend said he looks like Grandpa from The Munsters.

Carson, is something wrong with his eyes too. Or maybe he's sleeping. I'd sleep too listening to those doofuses.

Huckabee looks like the minister who terrifies your kids at Sunday School and steals money from the congregation.

Walker: "Don't speak of my union-busting record, and we're cool."
Carson: Speaking about butterflies and everything else in a soft voice.
Huckabee: He's still running?
Rubio: "Do I really believe everyone should be forced to speak English?"
Christie: "How do I get people to forget that I hugged Obama?"
Trump: Is this a presidential debate or is this Bad Girls Club?
Bush: "2000-2008 never happened, and if it did, nothing bad happened!"
Fiorina: "I hope people don't look up Hillary's record now that I lied that she accomplished nothing..."
Cruz: Return of the screechy voice.
Paul: Got called "1% by Donald Trump as a way of mocking his poll numbers. Will he let this "sophomoric" insult get to him?
Kasich: Can pass as a moderate compared to the rest.

Thu Sep 17, 2015, 02:32 AM

at all. You've got to look at it from the neoliberal point of view. The reallocation of wealth and resources to the corporatists is seen by neoliberals as a good thing, because they ultimately want to privatize everything that can be privatized, and deregulate everything else. Gutting the New Deal is the capstone of the philosophy, which calls for a return to a purer version of capitalism. They hold the belief that an unrestrained capitalist society is the epitome of human evolution because they are truly social Darwinists. To them, we are nothing, merely 'hands' to help earn a profit at the lowest possible cost. A worker is an expendable commodity, to be used like a sheet of toilet paper and then discarded when no longer useful.

So in the eyes of these criminal sociopaths, those policies haven't failed at all. To the committed neoliberal, we are only halfway there, and additional effort is needed for the plan to come to complete fruition.

In short, put these people in power and 99% of us are truly fucked.

She even talks in icy tones, throwing out her vision of solving the issues with each country of calling more troops, equipment and training to kill off ISIS and other factions.

Being a woman, she would scare the beejeebers out of me if I were to work with her. She seems to have an inflated view of herself and her accomplishments. Those may have been huge, but all I remember is the mess she made of HP. Those are hard to forget, Carly.

As for the rest of the debaters, I was amazed at how easily they passed over George's mess as though it was an "eh" moment. Gee, I remember 9/11, Katrina and the economy crashing. It was as though they had forgotten all about those issues.

When the low ratings of Congresscritters was brought up, the moderator started interrupting (which happened a lot on hot-button issues) to bring up another subject or change debaters. I found that irritating. Same with failure to accomplish anything in the last 6 years. Zoom! On to another interruption.

Now, I hope the Democrats come out in force to refute the lies and numbers they used...charts would be nice, except I don't think Republicans can interpret them. Maybe toons? Certainly shaming.

She lost a child to drugs and survived cancer. She is tough as nails, but there is something on the edge about her.
It's as if she if fighting to control her own fears and life via politics now.

I think she's on this fierce "power trip" thing because she's afraid of something. There is certainly no lifelong committment to government service, that's for sure....
