Nearly two-dozen Christiansburg students suspended for wearing Confederate flag apparel (VA)

... According to Montgomery County Public Schools spokeswoman Brenda Drake, 22 or 23 students were asked by school officials to comply with the dress code and remove the Confederate apparel. All the students refused and were placed into In-School Suspension, a lesser form of suspension that involves students being cloistered away from the general student population.

Some of the students became disruptive during ISS and were sent home with official suspensions, Drake said ...

Drake did not know the exact number of students that were sent home ...
